![]() Sabine Adeyinka The author of Jummy at the River School talks about her hopes for 2023. |
|
What's your favorite river in the world? It has to be the River Thames because it's the one I've been to the most often.I've walked along the riverside for hours enjoying the quietness of the river. This river really means a lot to me. What made you feel like writing this story? I had the most exciting experience at boarding school(寄宿学校)in Nigeria,Africa. And I have always wanted to describe the smells, sounds and energy of that time in a story. My most lively memories happened there. ![]() |
Do you have any hopes or dreams for 2023? To read my stories out loud to children and hopefully write more stories. If you could visit anywhere, where would you head first? To be honest,New York.So many good movies were set in New York, like Elf and Annie. Can you speak any other languages? I can speak a little bit of Yoruba, which is spoken in Southern Nigeria, and Pidgin English, which is a broken form of English that allows me to express myself very passionately(热情地). |

① Dear Ms.Petridou, From Russia and through India,to finally reach China,we chose to stay at a lovely hotel in Beijing, which is a beautiful, lively city. People there ride their bicycles everywhere and they are probably the politest people on the earth! We had healthy Chinese food with lots of vegetables, although we couldn't use the chopsticks at all!North of Beijing,we visited the Great Wall of China which goes its way from mountaintop to mountaintop. It's over 6,000 kilometers long and it took nearly 1,000,000 men to build it!You can't really tell how big it is from the postcard. You have to see it to believe it! Everyone sends their love,Class B4 |
